Acceptable Use Policy
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines permitted and prohibited uses of the SphereMail platform. Because SphereMail is designed to handle potentially malicious email content for legitimate security research and triage purposes, we must clearly define the boundaries of acceptable use to protect the platform, other users, and third parties.
2. Permitted Uses
- Investigating suspicious emails received by you or your organisation
- Phishing triage for SOC analysts and IT security teams
- Threat intelligence research and email forensics by security professionals
- Academic and educational research into email-based attacks
- Authorised penetration testing of your own organisation's email infrastructure
- MSSP/security service providers triaging client emails under appropriate data processing agreements
3. Prohibited Uses
- Facilitating attacks: Submitting email content to test, refine, or optimise phishing emails, spam campaigns, BEC templates, or malware delivery before launching them
- Malware research without authorisation: Uploading live malware samples without explicit written authorisation from SecureSphereLabs
- Illegal content: Uploading any content that constitutes a criminal offence under applicable law (e.g. CSAM, content facilitating terrorism)
- Infrastructure abuse: Automated or bulk scanning that exceeds your plan quota through technical bypass, credential sharing, or account creation at scale
- System intrusion: Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of SphereMail's infrastructure, databases, or admin panels
- Data harvesting: Scraping, crawling, or systematically extracting data from SphereMail beyond personal use
- Competitor intelligence: Using SphereMail to reverse-engineer, benchmark, or replicate the platform's proprietary AI prompts, scoring logic, or analysis engine
- Privacy violations: Submitting emails containing third-party personal data without a lawful basis under applicable data protection law
4. Reporting Abuse
If you observe SphereMail being used in violation of this AUP, please report it to security@securespherelabs.com. We take abuse reports seriously and will investigate all credible reports.
5. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in: immediate account suspension without refund; permanent account termination; referral to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities where illegal activity is suspected; and civil or criminal liability under applicable law.
